Dr Jo-Ann Chan BVSc

Practice Principal

Dr Jo-Ann Chan received her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne and has over a decade worth of experience as a veterinary surgeon. She has worked in various veterinary hospitals and shelters across Australia and Singapore, and is experienced in treating a range animals including dogs, cats, and exotic pets.

Jo-Ann is driven by her desire to help pets live their best lives possible and strives to accomplish this by building trusting relationships with pet owners and providing personalised care to each of her patients. She is passionate about preventative medicine and has a special interest in the relationship between animal nutrition and pet well-being.

As Practice Principal, Jo-Ann is proud to lead a team of dedicated and experienced veterinary professionals in consistently delivering the highest standards of veterinary care to all their patients.

Jo-Ann is licensed to practice as a veterinary surgeon in Australia and the United States. She is currently pursuing her MBA with the Australian Graduate School of Management.

Dr Eugene Ong BVSc (Hons I), MBA

Practice Principal

Dr Eugene Ong graduated with First-Class Honours from the University of Melbourne. Post-qualification, Eugene practiced in the United States and Singapore before undertaking a specialist internship in veterinary emergency and critical care. Since then, he has spent over 10 years working in multiple emergency hospitals across Melbourne and Sydney.

Beyond veterinary medicine, Eugene has an MBA from Melbourne Business School and has worked in Australia and the United States for Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical and bio-tech industry.

As co-Practice Principal, Eugene oversees practice operations to ensure that the practice is set-up to deliver on the clinic’s vision of helping pets live their best lives possible. Where possible, he endeavours to introduce best practice principles from adjacent industries to ensure that the practice excels across all aspects of service for pet owners and their pets.

Eugene is available for consults by appointment on weekends.

Dr Cate Plummer BVSc, BSc (Vet) (Hons)


Dr Cate Plummer graduated from the University of Sydney in 1989 and has over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine.

Cate has worked at Pet Medical since it opened in 2018 and is a familiar face to many who have visited the practice. She has a keen interest in all aspects of small animal practice, especially Behaviour.

Apart from small animal medicine, Cate is also an accredited FEI veterinarian and has had the privilege of attending 3 Olympic Games in various veterinary positions.

Cate is a Kirribilli local and loves being part of the vibrant community. She is available for consults by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and some weekends.

Dr Kirsty Giles BVetMed


Dr Kirsty Giles graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. In that time, she also contributed to two published papers in the area of veterinary orthopaedic surgery.

Kirsty has worked in both emergency and general practice settings and is highly experienced at managing patients through all stages of their lifecycle.

Kirsty is available for consults by appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and some weekends.
