Ultrasound Service

We are pleased to offer state-of-the-art ultrasound services to provide advanced diagnostic imaging for our patients. Our highly skilled veterinarians utilise ultrasound technology to visualise internal structures, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. Here is an overview of our ultrasound services:

  1. Diagnostic Ultrasound: We perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assess organs, tissues, and fluid-filled structures within the body. Ultrasound imaging helps in the evaluation of abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, urinary bladder, and reproductive organs. Additionally, we can examine the heart (echocardiography) to evaluate its structure and function, including assessing valves, chambers, and blood flow.

  2. Non-Invasive and Painless Procedure: Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique that does not require surgery or anaesthesia, making it a safe and comfortable procedure for your pet. It involves using high-frequency sound waves that are transmitted through a handheld probe and produce real-time images on a monitor.

  3. Guided Aspiration and Biopsy: Ultrasound-guided procedures allow for precise placement of a needle or catheter to collect sterile fluid samples (aspiration) or obtain tissue samples (biopsy). This enables us to gather important diagnostic information without the need for more invasive surgical procedures.

  4. Comprehensive Imaging and Evaluation: Our ultrasound equipment provides detailed and real-time imaging, allowing us to assess the size, shape, texture, and internal architecture of organs and tissues. We can detect abnormalities, such as tumours, cysts, foreign bodies, inflammation, and organ enlargement, facilitating accurate diagnoses.

  5. Pregnancy Evaluations: We utilise ultrasound to monitor pregnancy and evaluate foetal health in breeding animals. Ultrasound allows us to detect and confirm pregnancy, estimate litter size, evaluate fetal viability, and identify potential complications.

  6. Doppler Imaging: Doppler ultrasound enables us to assess blood flow within organs and blood vessels, helping in the diagnosis of conditions such as heart disease, vascular abnormalities, and tumours.

  7. Collaboration with Specialists: Our veterinarians work closely with board-certified specialists, including radiologists and cardiologists, to provide expert consultations and interpretation of ultrasound images when needed.

  8. Compassionate Care and Explanation: We understand that receiving a diagnosis can be stressful. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the ultrasound procedure, explaining the process and answering any questions or concerns you may have. Our veterinarians will discuss the ultrasound findings with you, providing a clear understanding of the diagnosis and treatment options for your pet.

Our ultrasound services offer a non-invasive and advanced imaging modality to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions in animals. We are committed to providing compassionate care and utilising cutting-edge technology to support the health and well-being of your pets. Our experienced team is here to assist you and provide the highest level of diagnostic expertise and care.
